Well, it was either the wine, or I was less scary today, because people actually spoke in English to me today at Choir. Now that I think about it, it was probably the wine. I'm telling you - if you want to eat drink and be merry - join a choir. These people are hilarious. We were all in the same boat tonight as we received some "new" songs - keep in mind that ALL of these songs are new to me, but it felt good starting from the beginning with some of the veterans. Thank goodness for Terry Voss and my sight reading expertise, because I'd be screwed without it. Not only am I singing in Hungarian, but I'm singing parts I've never seen before, being instructed in Hungarian. THEN - they switch to Latin - I should have picked up on it, seeing that our first "concert" is in just over a week - at church, but of course - I pronounce the latin "s" as an "sh" as they do in Hungarian, and I'm frowned at. Oh well - shove it Tibor, I'm learning. I was asked tonight if I am single, how old I am, if I want a Hungarian boyfriend, if I want to come to the Irish band performance tomorrow night (of course I do) even though it's at a "private house" - who knows- but all in all, people were more English centered today. I even had an English cameo - I was chosen (as if there are many to choose from) to speak the English version of a song as they hum in the background. As we are an international culture, my Russian and German peers also spoke the verse in their mother tongue... so it wasn't all about me. Anyhow, I am feeling much more confident about our "Excursion" to Papa, where a trip to the water park is included in our fee - (really? the waterpark?) - but I am really excited!
